We have conversations with ourselves all the time. But most of the time, we don’t realize that we’re doing it.
Even when we’re talking to others, there’s truly only one conversation going on in our heads as our brain works to signal reactions and expressions. But we can have a conversation with our mind, which is somehow different than our brain. We may even elicit physical emotions while we’re doing it.
So today have an intentional conversation with yourself. And start the conversation by asking yourself what it means to trust yourself. But don’t try and “think” of the answer. Let the answers, let the thoughts flow. You’ll learn a lot about why you don’t trust yourself. Or why you trust others more. You’ll learn why you would prefer to trust a god, rather than yourself.
Because the truth is, who you trust is always just the muse for you to realize that you can actually trust yourself.
